To All:
With a Quorum and Proxies in hand the yearly elections were held.
The Officers for the Chapter for the coming year are as follows:
President ----------------------- Craig Porter
Exec VP------------------------- Don Jacques
VP Special Projects ------------- Patti Hultstrand
Treasurer ----------------------- Mike Mackowski
RC Racing Committee Chairman - Stuart Scott
Chapter's presentation to visitors at Conventions and other Venues:
We will be developing new "Stand Ups" and "Display Table Exhibits" because we need to re-emphasize our position on the Moon and its eventual Settlement and development. The stand ups will feature our version of a basic, low tech, settlement and the equipment that we see as important to the settlement and its growth and survival. We will build some basic systems in miniature and some in full scale, as we are capable of.
The table displays will also have one of our RC Racers on display with a descriptionof what it is about.
Along with the new table displays we will be developing new panels for the Cons to advance ideas about what is needed, what is probable, and what is likely along with other ideas about settling the Moon. We will be looking into what we can "depend on" from the local terrain and how to utilize it successfully.
Panels will also be dedicated to the companies setting the lead in Commercial Space, such as SpaceX, Virgin Galactic and Bigelow Aerospace and others as they develop.
The telepresence RC Racing Venue has been combined under Stuart Scott to have a better grasp on the progress of the procurement, assembly and the other associated items to make the racing a GO. Stuart will have full access to Don, Mike and Me for technical assistance and support as he needs it.
We have talked about having a larger Telepresence RC car for the Cons and other places to demonstrate the remote Control of vehicles on the Moon.
Our next Con will be LepreCon 37 in May in Tempe Arizona, refer to http://www.blogger.com/ for information, and then in September CopperCon31 in Avondale Arizona, refer tohttp://www.blogger.com/ for information.
Craig
Come take in a Convention, bring the spouse and kits, show them what we do and what others are doing to bring about the settlement of the Moon and it's development.

TELEPRECENSE REMOTE CONTROL RACES
(Still on going planning for Races.)
The Moon Society Phoenix is still working on the Teleprecense Remote Control races.
Check this blog for details as they develop.
We are still discussing set-ups, rules, equipment and sponsorship rules at this time and it appears that the races wont occur until sometime in the late winter or early spring.
All races will be open to all comers, however, judging maybe bases on age and type (cost) of RV Car. If you prefer to buy your own car and practice for the races, then you will need a three (3) channel RC Car that can be purchased at Walmart, Target or another store. You will need a minature TV camera, a transmitter, a receiver and a device to display the picture from the Car so that you can practice driving the Car by use of the TV System only.
In the talking stages are basic racing, advanced races, and the Lunar Challenge, race heats may be run against the clock and/or one on one or more.
If you have comments and suggestions please make your comments to this blog or send them to me at portercd@msn.com Subject RC Racing.
Demonstrations of the Race Cars will be available at CopperCon32 at the Moon Society Outreach Table.

November Chapter Meeting
To all,
The regular monthly meeting was held as scheduled at the Tempe Denny's at US 60 and Rural Road.
Present at this meeting were Stuart Scott, Don Jacques, Mike Marron and myself.
Old business for today included the Teleprescience RC Racing, The Lunar Habitat development and the Chapter Website. Teleprescience Racing has three cars available and needs one more for the planned racing. Also available are one Remote TV camera, TV receiver and Monitor we need three more sets to complete the car modifications. We are also looking for the equipment that we will need for recording and broadcasting (Internet) the races with funds being raised by the sale of copies of the races to the participants as a separate cost or as part of the entrance fees. Scheduling and Advertising have been put back until after the first of the year, Possible Venues include The Challenger Center in Peoria, Cub Scout Pine Wood Derbies, The Phoenix Science Center and others.
Lunar Habitat design and planning continue with various questions being raised and answers sought for a variety of problems. The Habitat group have opted for the lowest possible tech solutions and are building test designs for evaluations. This approach, in our opinion, allows us the position of letting nature to do its share of problem solving. We have noted the NASA's "One Way Plan for Mars" but are taking that into consideration in our planning. The work continues.
The Chapter Web Site continues to be a problem. Chuck has been unable to recover our original Web Site from the hackers. This leaves us with the options of starting a new site from scratch or not keeping a web site. If we choose to not keep a web site then we lose our ability to communicate with those that are interested in what we have to say and offer comments and suggestions. If we do keep a web site then that leaves us with several options, one is the old 'YAHOO' site, we could update it and go with it, or we can start a new site and go with it. Currently we are experimenting with two different sites, one by Mike on the carrier that services his personal web site and Don is experimenting with a format on the same basis as Mikes, just different servers. Links to the sites will be on my blog later today or tomorrow for both sites for review and comments.
My blog site will be brought up to date and the new information will included as it is available and I will see if I can make down loadable data available.
New business consists of what to have for panels and information for our outreach tables at the up coming Conventions in May and September. So far it is possible that I will be doing the "disaster Strikes" panel again with additional material included. I am thinking about presenting this same material to various groups that request it. Later this year I might even have some demonstrations on what can be done with materials around the home.
Don and Patti will most likely have their Dealer's Table and do panels on Publishing and Writing and Don way have some panels on Science Topics.

Come to the Conventions and see what we do and meet with us at the Table and attend our panels.

CROSS SOCIETY ASSISTANCE
All members of the Moon Society, the Mars Society, the National Space Society, the Planetary Society and any other Space based Society in the Valley of the Sun please feel free to make suggestions on how we may help each other meet our goals.
We should be working together to achieve our goals for Space Exploration and Development. As well as supporting the private sector in reaching for our place in Space. That place will require us to get there in the most cost effective way possible to do what needs to be done to protect our enviroment and species.
Without the group of us helping each other in our goals none of us will be able to generate the interest in what is need to succede in our aims.
For those that want to help please address your comments to me at portercd@msn.com.
I will post them to this blog and make sure to pass them onto the other groups.
